Iraqi Al-Amal Association participate in regional forum on the protection of the right to education

Jamal Al-Jawahery (member of the board of trustees) in Iraqi Al-Amal Association confirmed that many non-governmental organizations in Iraq worked during the past years in the fields of literacy, spread the human rights culture, combat violence and communication through dialogue in schools. However, the challenges are deeper that need joint effort from all parties and its required development and support the non-governmental organization in their work in order to be active partners in the whole development process for Iraqi society, this came up during his presentation about rights in education in Iraq presented. In the regional forum on the protection of right to education in armed conflict conditions and insecurity in the middle east and north Africa which was held in dead sea in Jordan between 19,21 January,2014.

The presented focused on the Iraqi constitution in article 22 on this right and the difficulties faced Iraq in this field which suffers many of wars and blockade and control of mental, sectarianism and nationalism on education in Iraq and also the recommendations that would contribute to develop of the reality of education in Iraq.

The forum was attended by 112 figures from 12 Arab countries in addition to many representatives from several international organizations in the field of human rights and education in particular, it was organized by the education above all foundation- UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the United Nations Centre for Training and Documentation in Doha.
