Climate Guardians Initiative within Safe Communities Project

“Climate Guardians” and “Environmental Democracy” are two names that express shared aim : protecting the environment. In response to recent climate change, volunteer teams in Kirkuk and Salah-din organized several awareness-raising activities, including preparing an “Environmental Citizen’s Guide,” hanging warning signs to preserve trees, producing visible content, and distributing awareness brochures. Dialogue sessions were also held with the environmental police, the local community, and the Environment and Climate Department in both governorates through volunteer efforts by the Climate Horizons team and the Green Hands team in cooperation with the Iraqi Al-Amal Association and the Dutch organization (PAX) within the Safe Communities project.
