Workshop to review and evaluate the National Human Rights Plan in Iraq

Sulaymaniyah – April 20, 2025
Al-Amal Association concluded a workshop on “Reviewing the National Human Rights Plan in Iraq”, held in Sulaymaniyah from April 18 to 20, 2025, as part of the project “Promoting Governmental and Civil Society Partnership in Human Rights”.
The workshop brought together 15 participants from the Ministry of Justice (Secretariat of the National Human Rights Plan), along with representatives from sectoral ministries’ human rights departments and leaders from civil society organizations.
The workshop aimed to assess the implementation of the current National Human Rights Plan (2021–2025), extract key lessons learned, and formulate recommendations for the upcoming phase. Through discussions and group work, participants evaluated achievements, explored opportunities for cooperation, and developed a comprehensive vision and unified approach to further promote human rights in Iraq.
Another workshop will be held later to lay the foundations for the next National Human Rights Plan 2026-2030, drawing on the experiences of the previous plan and those of other countries.
