“I am a Child Campaign”
More Than 650 Children at Al-Salam Camp in Baghdad Celebrate Eid
The campaign, “I am a Child” organized an event on 9th September 2016 which included art and athletic activities. More than 650 children from the IDP Al-Salam Camp in Al-Takiya Al-Kasnazaniya participated in this Eid festival. Presents were distributed to the children bring back smiles in their faces and enhanced the social cohesion. The camp is occupied by families from Anbar and Salahulddin provinces.
The campaign, I am a Child, commenced at the beginning of August 2016 by 30 young men and women who were able to raise more than 800 gifts from the shopping centers in Baghdad through direct approach or through advertising in the social media. Direct telephone to collects were also used to collect donations
The activities included, drawing, handcrafts, popular games, football and cartoon film display. The gifts were distributed to the children at the end of the activities accompanied while singing the currently famous song (we are all Iraq).
Iraqi Al-Amal Association provided the venue for the meeting of the group and for the activities to take place in the child-friendly space project at Al-Salam Camp south of Baghdad.
