Iraqi Al-Amal Launches Clean-up Campaign in Basra

Iraqi Al-Amal Association office in Basra launched Clean-up Awareness Campaign on 7th January 2016 by participating in cleaning Al- Mashriq Al-Jadeed district in Basrah. The Campaign was carried out in conjunction with the National Cleaning Company to highlight the suffering of some areas from the accumulation of waste and swamps of stagnant water which lead to the deterioration of the general wellbeing of the people.

Al-Amal coordinated with the Relations and Organizations Committee in Basra Governorate to communicate with the company. After obtaining approvals  the campaign started in conjunction with the Company in the area mentioned above.

In addition to participating in the cleaning process, Al-Amal office focused on providing awareness by meeting the residents of the area and highlightthe importance of cleaning to sustain general health and prevent the spread of diseases and epidemics. Litter bags were distributed to the residents. Health awareness banners were posted to encourage the residents to care about the public cleanliness.
