CEDAW Shadow Report Team Met European Diplomatic Representatives – Baghdad.

 In 12/2/2014, a meeting with European Diplomatic representatives took place in Swedish Embassy to present a summary regarding the CEDAW shadow report and Iraqi woman conditions in light of the armed conflicts/post armed conflict, challenges which Iraqi women face by the discrimination on the legal level or behaviors level, phenomena of violence against women which was increased in the country, decrease of woman participation in the national reconciliation  and decision making in the political parties.

A progressive discussion took place to advance Iraqi Women’s current condition and empower them educationally, politically and economically as well we promote the role of CSOs in the advocacy campaigns to achieve equality in rights, opportunities and promote women’s role in achieving security and peace as well as promoting culture of human rights in Iraq.
