The Dutch Foreign Affairs Minister Met A Delegation of Civil Society Organization in Baghdad
Mr. Frans Timmermans Dutch foreign affairs minister met a delegation of civil society organizations during his visit to Iraq in September, 9th, 2013 in the presence of Dutch ambassador Ms. Janet Saipan to hear their opinions in the process of complicated situations Iraq is facing. The delegation reviewed several files on the level of civil society priorities-human rights violations,violence against women, advocacy concerning issues related to diversity and minorities, the sectarian challenges and its risks on the political and security, social and psychological situation for Iraqis in sequence with corruption which weaken the institutions of state and threaten development programs and economic development. The Dutch minister talk about his government’s attitude concerning human rights cases and their willingness in developing relations with Iraq at both levels the governmental and the civil society organizations. The delegation consisted of representatives of Iraqi Al Amal Association, Masarat for cultural and media development and the Women’s Freedom Organization. The meeting was attended by general director of directory of committee’s affairs in the general secretariat of the council of ministers.
